BASIC POLICY
Any learner who is willing and able to benefit from the distinct education offered by Westrand SDA Primary School will have an equal chance to be admitted to the School and to benefit from all of the school programmes
Therefore:
No learner will be denied admission on the basis of his or her race, colour, creed, religious background or any other form of discrimination.
The following qualifications to the above policy statements should be noted:
Parents are expected to explain to their child and indicate in signing (as part of the Application Form) that they:
• Understand the philosophical base from which education at Westrand takes place and especially that they
• Understand the integration of faith and learning that takes place in all school programmes
• Desire this distinctive type of education, and that they are willing to submit themselves to the School’s Rules
and Code of Conduct as published in a separate policy document.
• Understand that the School will not excuse learners from Religion (Bible) classes and/or religious exercises
because they or their parents hold to different beliefs than that espoused by the School.
Closing Date
No closing date for registration is set. The school has limited space and facilities and no new registrations will be accepted when all the spaces have been taken up. Learners whose applications are received after all spaces have been allocated will be put on a waiting list and/or
Registration Requirements
• Birth Certificate (Certified Copies)
• Valid Study Permit/ Asylum Documents (Foreign Learners)
• Clinic Card
• Copy of ID / Passport of Parents (With Valid Work Permit) (Certified Copies)
• Proof of Residence
• Transfer from previous school (ORIGINAL)
• Latest Report Card
Please note that all Documents have to be completed with all relevant information and that a complete set of documents has to be completed for each child registered. (Transfer letters are not required for Grade R Learners).
If there is anything that is unclear please do not hesitate to contact me or we can go over it when you submit your application in person.
Please note that due to changes in requirements by Home Affairs your child has to provide the following documents upon registration:
- A valid South African Birth Certificate (Not Handwritten, only Computer Generated), or
- A valid Study Permit for your Child (This is applied for when the Parent/Guardian applies for his/her permit), or
- A valid Permanent Residency Permit.
All registrations go through a verification process which will conclude early to late November wherein which recommendations concerning payment will be made.
